Quit (temporary):
I need to take a break from Quora. I still like writing here, and I definitely enjoy the conversations in comments about different topics. However, there is a lot of negativity among the community, and lately, it has been upsetting me. I don’t want to come to a website on my own time, and get upset. I’ve learned a long time ago that I cannot control the actions and thoughts of other folks, but I can influence my own. So I’ll be back when I feel ready to deal with certain things or I can learn to avoid them. Quora has always felt like a safe place for me, and I want to keep it that way so that I enjoy my time here. Take care, everyone!

I’m not sure if anyone will read this now. My account has practically died.
I’m going to be leaving Quora on the 31st of March. I just have far too many bad memories here, and I can’t keep reliving it. This account will be deleted.

So, while we got up to octies yesterday, as I noted in comments, some of these were April Fool’s Jokes, some were not. Some I was warned of in advance, some I was not until after I posted. Most of them, in all honesty, I have no idea either way.
I’d been promising an editorial on the March “purges”. I think the fact that I let this run, and that I had no idea what was going on half the time, is editorial enough.
For any user who gives me a public or private notification that theirs was an April Fool’s Joke, I will put up the notice APRIL FOOL below their notice.
