Quit:

I’m deactivating my account, for now at least. Quora, for me, has gone from being a source of knowledge and comradery to a source of stress.

Sure, moderation plays its role in culling quality contributors, and so does anonymous trolling and, frankly, the general decay of user-generated content.

But part of it is just me. Sometimes, Quora is fun and gratifying. Other times, I’m simply unable to resist engaging with users who are being illogical, hypocritical or abusive. Some voice inside of me tells me it will be rewarding to put some jerk in their place – in fact, more often, it ruins my day.

In short, it’s gotten to a point where it’s not fun anymore. And it should be fun. So, I’m off for now! Maybe I’ll back some day when I’m more “zen.”
